Marunouchi BRICK SQUARE

Marunouchi BRICK SQUARE
Appearance

Marunouchi BRICK SQUARE refers to a commercial area in and around the Marunouchi Park Building, a 170-m high office building owned by Mitsubishi Estate Co.

A total of 36 featured facilities include fashion shops and accessory goods stores, as well as restaurants from overseas boasting upmarket food range.

"Ichigokan Hiroba" square is an open-area space bordered on three sides by Marunouchi Park Building, Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, and an Annex, and provides a walking path through a beautiful, lush green in the midst of city bustle. After nightfall, the square is prettified with the gentle light of the street lamp modeled after a gas lamp from Meiji era.

Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum is a reconstruction of the former museum that was pulled down in 1968. The museum building is built with an astounding 2.3 million red bricks, and was completed as recently as in 2010. Exhibits focus on artworks of the late 19th century, featuring among anything else illustrations by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.
