Mt. Fuji is Japan's highest mountain with an altitude of 3776 meters. A fact fairly unknown is that Mt. Fuji is still an active volcano. Its beauty has attracted, and been worshipped by, the people of this country from ancient times. Throughout the year Mt. Fuji serves as a scenic calendar featured with cherry blossoms in spring, fall foliage in autumn and snow covering its peak in winter. The five lakes of Fuji, or the Fuji Goko, are famous as best sites to see the mountain. Lake Kawaguchi is known widely for the inverted image of Mt. Fuji reflected on the lake. July and August are the months when Mt. Fuji turns into a crowded tourism site with climbers from home and abroad.
It is easy to get here from Kanto area, so the most of climbers use this route.。
It is easy to get here from Nagoya and Kansai area, and distance to the peak Kengamine is the shortest among climbing trails.
As there are not so many climbers and there is a woodland, you can climb the mountain with enjoying nature. There is Sunabashiri during your descent from the mountain.
As there are few climbers, you can climb the mountain in a relaxed way. There is Oh-Sunabashiri on the route and the route is popular as descent course.
