Laforet Harajuku

Laforet Harajuku

Ever since its completion in 1978, Laforet Harajuku, the iconic department store in this trend-setting district, has been garnering the attention of Japanese youngsters with its wide collection of cutting-edge fashion items. The building consists of seven floors housing boutiques and designer brands that are mostly geared toward young female clientele.

The top floor features LaForet Museum, where a variety of events take place to showcase upcoming brands, and works of creators, artists and entrepreneurs.

During the biannual Grand Bazaar, held in January and July, LaForet and the nearby streets swarm with fashion-conscious shoppers intent on snapping up their favorite brands.
