The Museum of The Little Prince in Hakone

The Museum of The Little Prince in Hakone
Entrance of the Museum

This theme museum was built in honor of the French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and his most famous novella "The Little Prince".

Buildings and shops replicate the landscapes of Provence, France of the early 1900's, which influenced and formed the life and works of Saint-Exupéry.

In the exhibition hall, letters and snapshots are on display to give a glimpse of the career of this French author-cum-aviator.

Alleys and gardens are another attraction. During the museum's wholesale renewal in July 2009, four European gardens were built on the premises by Keiko Yoshiya--a preeminent Japanese landscape designer--to offer a beautiful setting in all four seasons.

"Restaurant Le Petit Prince", a decent restaurant on site, serves casual French style cooking. At the museum shop "Five Hundred Million Bells", novelty goods related to the Little Prince are available.
