Opened in 1964, Yomiuri Land features rollercoasters, Ferris wheels, a 22m bungee jump and other theme-park attractions - 31 in all, including an outdoors theatre. WAI (Water Amusement Island) operates during the summer only, and features 5 pools and 2 water slides. The large Ferris wheel has a height of 170m and offers views of the city skyline and Mt. Fuji on clear days, and is Yomiuri Land's "standard" attraction that anyone can enjoy. The Bandit roller coaster makes use of the topography and natural greenery of the park in its design and gives riders a high-speed, dynamic up-and-down thrill-ride through the forest, with a track 1,560m long, a maximum height of 78m and a top speed of 110km/h. The White Canyon is made entirely of wood (aside from the bolts and rails) and, featuring the strongest horizontal G-forces of any wooden coaster in the world and the steepest angle of descent in Japan, it is Yomiuri Land's No. 1 Thrill Ride.
