Kanda Myojin

Kanda Myojin
Shrine Pavilions

Kanda Myojin was enshrined in the Edo period and has a history of almost 1,300 years. Formally named the Kanda Shrine, it was revered by both the general public and the Shogunate as the "Protector of Edo".

The gods of the shrine are believed to be protectors of 108 communities in central Tokyo - including the districts of Kanda, Nihonbashi, Akihabara, Ote/Marunouchi, and the Tsukiji Fish Market - and are collectively called "Myojin-sama" as a term of endearment.
