GUNDAM Cafe is a theme restaurant inspired by the smash hit sci-fi animation series "Mobile Suit Gundam". This futuristic, 60-seat cafe provides the latest information related to Gundam, and is on its way to becoming the ultimate destination for hardcore as well as casual fans of the more-than-three-decades-old space opera.
Customers can choose from more than 30 kinds of drinks, such as Jaburo Coffee (340 yen), an original coffee blend named after the fictional military headquarters in Brazil.
As for food items, a total of about 30 Gundam-themed original dishes are available. Those include "Red Comet"(790 yen)--a bowl of spicy spaghetti emulating char's zaku--and "Gunpla-Yaki"(190 yen or above)--a hot flour-based snack filled with sweet azuki bean paste or cream, in the shape of the original 1/144 Gundam modl kit. "Gundam Cafe Haroll"(950 yen), a rolled cake with Haro pattern, is another treat.
The Cafe also offers a wide range of exclusive souvenirs, particularly popular among which is "Gundam Coaster Drink Mats" (380 yen). Each packet contains 6 randomly selected coasters with different Gundam designs.
Female staff members help to evoke the Gundam world-feel with their pink federation uniform. From 5:00 p.m. until closing, the cafe operates as a bar and offers alcohol beverages.
