The fifth chapter of "Mobile Suit Gundam UC" is finally here. It's been announced that "Mobile Suit Gundam UC Episode 5: 'Black Unicorn'" will be simultaneously released in theater, on Blu-ray Disc, and through online distribution, on May 19th.

The series is known for releasing episodes simultaneously through various media--a move that has effectively ensured it a place in the news. Well-received by fans, the latest Gundam anime series, which is set in the Universal Century, is sadly nearing its conclusion.

The popular screening event will run for two weeks--beginning May 19th, and ending June 1st. Starting at the Tokyo/Shinjuku Piccadilly Theater, the film will be shown at 12 theaters in major cities throughout the country, giving fans a chance to see the film, which has been applauded for its high quality production, on the big screen.
Another attraction of the screening event is the exclusive goods that will be sold at the theaters, with the Blu-ray Disc being an especially hot item. Not only will fans be able to get their hands on it sooner, but the BD also includes exclusive features, such as special scenarios and raw film by scriptwriter, Yasuyuki Muto. A total of 12,000 sets will be available, and are priced at 7000 yen, tax included.

The pay distribution also begins on the same day. General sales of the BD and DVD will begin June 8th. The BD is priced at 6090 yen, and the DVD at 5040 yen, both tax included.
The story heats up in episode 5. Banagher is ambushed and captured by black MS Banshee. Banagher, who is concealing the coordinates to "Laplace's Box", which were shown to him by the Unicorn Gundam, is rescued by Bright, of the Londo Bell. The story continues to unfold, with space becoming a battlefield.
