Ken Akamatsu's hit manga, "Magister Negi Magi! (aka 'Mahou Sensei Negima!')" is being adapted into a social game. Developed by Taito, the game will be released on social gaming network, Mobage, on January 23rd.
Taito has previously worked on the social game development of Hiro Mashima's "Fairy Tail", and this will be the second time it handles one of the popular titles from Kodansha's "Weekly Shonen Magazine".

"Magister Negi Magi!" was created by Ken Akamatsu and serialized in 2003. The public loved the variety of characters, and as a result, the manga was subsequently adapted into a TV anime and feature film. Now it's set to join the rank of social games.
The game is set in Mahora Academic City. Players are magicians-in-training who must complete assignments to graduate, and compete in magician duels with other players in the hopes of becoming a great magi.

Players are awarded magic cards for completing quests, which can then be used in card battles with other players. Cards can also be placed in a collection, or fused together to create a stronger card.
Team play, battle events, and club tournaments are just a few ways the social game can be enjoyed.
